Styrene Acrylonitrile Sheets (SAN Sheets)
Styrene Acrylonitrile is a copolymer plastic consisting of styrene and acrylonitrile. It is very commonly known as SAN. It is widely used in place of polystyrene owing to its greater thermal resistance. Acrylonitrile content not only improves mechanical properties and chemical resistance, but also adds a yellow tint to the normally transparent plastic.

Acrylic Sheets (PMMA Sheets) Polymethyl Methacrylate (PMMA) is a transparent thermoplastic, often used as a lightweight or shatter-resistant alternative to glass. It is sometimes called Acrylic Glass. Chemically, it is the synthetic polymer of methyl Methacrylate. PMMA is an economical alternative to polycarbonate (PC) when extreme strength is not necessary. It is often preferred because of its moderate properties, easy handling / processing, and low cast. However, it behaves in a brittle manner when loaded, especially under an impact force, and is more prone to scratching compared to conventional inorganic glass.

Features Of Polycarbonate Sheets

  • Impact strength : The impact strength of solid PC sheets is 200 times that of glass.
  • Light weight : The weight of a solid PC sheet is only about half of glass.
  • Transparency : The light transmission of PC sheet is 90% (clear), for different thicknesses.
  • UV-protection : Our PC sheets are manufactured using UV stabilized PC resin that keeps the PC sheet from discoloring.
  • Resistance to weather : A PC sheet has resistance to bad weather and maintains excellent properties in a wide temperature range (from -40 to 120oC)
  • Thermal insulation : The K-value of glass is 1.2 times that of a solid PC sheet. So PC sheets are very useful for insulation.
  • Easy installation : A PC sheet can be bent while hot or cold and can be used on curved roofs, domes and windows. The Minimum cold bend radius for pc is 100 times thickness and minimum hot bend radius is 175 times the thickness.
